Wire
and Flags For
Pet Containment Systems
We automatically
upgrade all of our Radio Fences to Heavy Duty polyethylene
coated boundary wire. Our wire is 3
times thicker and stronger than the wire you will
find in any Retail or Online store and has proven to be
extremely durable in any climate
- even above ground. With many years of hands-on experience,
we can ensure our clients get the
best system - and best wire - for their
individual needs each and every time. Our wire is an 18
gauge solid core, direct burial wire. This same wire is used
in commercial irrigation systems, and is designed to last a
lifetime.
Boundary Kits
include Boundary Flags and Boundary Wire. If you need
additional wire and flags, we offer two sizes of boundary
kits, the RFA-500 includes 500 feet of wire and 50 flags,
the RFA-1000 includes 1,000 feet of wire and 100 flags. You
can also purchase wire and flags separately so you can get
exactly what you need. Use the guide at the bottom of the
page to determine the amount of wire needed to enclose your
property.
Our wire and
flags can be used with any pet containment system.

Use this guide
to determine how much wire you need to enclose your yard.
These figures are estimates, based on typical layouts. You
may need more wire if you're doing interior loops to
boundary off gardens, swimming pools or other protected
areas. We will provide you wire in 500 foot increments on
500 or 1,000 foot spools. We use only 18 gauge, solid core,
direct burial wire.

For larger
areas, use the following formula:
Multiply the total acreage by 43,000- i.e.: 10 acres x
43,000 = 430,000
Find the square root of the above number - square root of
430,000 = 656 (this is the length of each side of a 10 acre
area that is square in shape. Even if your area is not
square, if you multiply this number by four, this is the
approximate length of the four sides of a 10 acre area.)
Therefore, one
would need approximately 2,625 feet of wire to enclose the
perimeter of a 10 acre area. You will need additional wire
to run from the transmitter to the perimeter and/or for any
interior loops, etc. |
